Bus terminal at Abrenes Street hosts Riga open air art gallery "Satikšanās"

"Rīgas satiksme" in partnership with artist Jānis Anmanis has created Riga open air art gallery "Satikšanās" in one of the biggest bus terminals in Abrenes Street, where five bus stop shelters are decorated with almost 100 reproductions of paintings by famous artists, as well drawings made by children.

Here one can see the reproductions of famous paintings, such as "Mona Lisa" by Leonardo da Vinci, "Vase with Twelve Sunflowers" by Vincent van Gogh, Birth of Venus by Sandro Boticelli, as well "Vision" and "Old Riga" byJānis Anmanis, etc. 

Riga open art gallery was organised by artist Jānis Anmanis, its participants include Ernests Elings – Eliass, Laimdota Ikere, Karīna Gīle, Justīne Rudzīte, Emīlija Ratkusa, Alise Strautmane, Madara Beijere, Marta Garkalne, Diāna Anmane, Kārlis Ārgalis – Straumēns, Krišjānis Straumēns, Jeļena Valtere, Anatolijs Vasiļjevs, Juris Finks, Jeļena Obrazcova, Oļegs Trušins.

Everybody can visit the gallery for free. It should be reminded that earlier the terminal at Abrenes Street was decorated by students of Design section of the Latvian Academy of Arts.  

Every day the bus terminal at Abrenes Street serve almost a half of all "Rīgas satiksme" bus routes. Some 30 bus routes start from here to deliver passengers to near and remote districts and suburbs of Riga, such as Vecmīlgrāvis, Jaunciems, Zolitūde, Dārziņi, Mežaparks,  "Riga airport", Mārupe, Piņķi etc.
